Learn why it may look like you were billed twice, and why this often happens when different bills, dates, or payment records are being viewed together.
What you’ll learn in this article
- why billing can sometimes look duplicated;
- the most common reasons this happens;
- how to tell whether two bills are actually different; and
- when it may be a genuine billing issue.
Why does it look like I was billed twice?
In many cases, this does not mean you were charged twice by mistake.
It usually means you are seeing two different bills, dates, or payment records that relate to different parts of your membership.
What are the most common reasons this happens?
1. One bill is for the rest of this month, and another is for next month
This often happens when your membership starts or renews part-way through a month.
In that case, you may receive:
- one invoice for the remaining days of the current month; and
- one invoice for the next full calendar month.
Example: If your membership starts or renews on 21 April 2026, you may receive:
- one invoice for 21-30 April 2026; and
- one invoice for 1-31 May 2026.
These are not duplicate charges. They cover two different billing periods.
2. A bill sent this month may already be for next month
JustCo invoices are often issued in advance (typically on the 9th of each month and due on the first of the next month).
This means an invoice issued in one month may already be billing you for the following month’s membership period.
Example: An invoice issued on 9 April 2026 may cover the membership period 1-31 May 2026, and be due by 1 May 2026.
So if you also received another invoice around April, it may simply be because one invoice relates to April and the other relates to May.
3. You may be looking at an invoice and a credit note
Sometimes what looks like two separate invoices is actually:
- an invoice, which is the original bill; and
- a credit note, which reduces or offsets your bill.
Example: You may see:
- Invoice INV-10001 for SGD 340; and
- a credit note issued to refund or adjust an earlier invoice.
This does not necessarily mean you were charged twice. The invoice is the original bill, while the credit note is used to reduce or adjust the amount payable.
Credit notes can look similar to tax invoices, so they are sometimes mistaken for a second bill. To check, look at the document title on the top-right corner - it should say Credit Note, not Tax Invoice.
4. Your membership may have renewed
If your membership renewed into a new term, a new charge may appear even though you were already billed for the earlier term.
Example: If your Hot Desk membership ran until 20 April 2026 and was not cancelled, it auto-renews from 21 April 2026.
In that case, you may see:
- one charge for 21-30 April 2026; and
- another charge for 1-31 May 2026.
These are not duplicate charges. They are charges for the newly renewed period, covering the rest of April and the next full month of May.
5. You may have more than one membership or booking
You may also see more than one invoice if your account has multiple membership agreements.
Each membership agreement carries its own monthly invoice.
Example: In the same month, you might have:
- one invoice for Hot Desk Monthly membership agreement A; and
- another invoice for Hot Desk Monthly membership agreement B.
The amounts may look similar, but they relate to different membership agreements, not the same invoice billed twice.
How can I check whether the bills are actually different?
In the JustCo App, go to Me > Invoices and compare:
- the document title;
- the invoice number;
- the dates covered by each invoice;
- the amount due; and
- the payment status.
When might it be a real billing issue?
It may be a genuine issue if you see the same amount for the same dates more than once, or if the same payment appears to have been collected more than once.
If the dates or invoice numbers are different, it usually means the bills are for different things.
