Why do I have more than one invoice for the same membership?

JustCo Support Services -

Learn why you may receive more than one invoice for the same membership, especially if your membership started or renewed part-way through the month.

What you’ll learn in this article

  • why you may receive two invoices close together;
  • why one invoice may be for the rest of this month and another for next month;
  • why a bill sent this month may already be for next month; and
  • how to check whether this is a real duplicate charge.

Why do I have more than one invoice?

This usually does not mean you were charged twice by mistake.

In many cases, one invoice is for the rest of the current month, and the other is for the next full month.

When does this usually happen?

This most often happens when your membership starts or renews part-way through the month.

In that case, you may receive:

  • one invoice for the days left in the current month; and
  • one invoice for the next full month.

Simple example

If your membership starts on 21 April, you may receive:

  • one invoice for 21 to 30 April; and
  • one invoice for 1 to 31 May.

These are not the same charge. They are for two different time periods.

Why is one invoice already for next month?

JustCo’s monthly invoices are usually created in advance (ie. invoices are typically posted on the 9th of each month and due the 1st of the following month).

This means a bill sent in April may already be for May.

So even if both invoices appear around the same time, they may still be correct.

Why does this feel like I am being charged twice?

It can feel that way because:

  • both invoices may arrive close together;
  • both may show the same membership name; and
  • one of them may already be for next month, even though it was sent this month.

But if the invoices cover different dates, they are usually separate valid invoices, not duplicate billing.

How can I check whether the invoices are for different dates?

In the JustCo App, go to Me > Invoices and compare:

  • the invoice number;
  • the dates covered by each invoice;
  • the amount due; and
  • the payment status.

When might it be a real duplicate charge?

It may be a real duplicate if you were billed or charged more than once for the exact same dates.

If the dates on the invoices are different, it is usually not a duplicate.
